Paired tenons
The joint used on most panel doors for jointing the lock and the

Rabbet
A rectangular, sectioned step or recess in which the cut is made
on the edge of the wood, such as the rabbet on the edge of a jamb

and panels of some doors are fitted. The ability to cut rabbets
is an important part of door making.
